General Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor, the Quality Control (QC)
Technician is responsible for ensuring that the manufacturing of food products occurs in a safe manner in
compliance with federal regulations (FDA/USDA), state laws, current SQF code, and other procedures, as
required. The QC technician is responsible for monitoring the food safety, sanitation, allergen control, etc.
programs within their site.
Shift:
Monday-Friday from 6:00am to 2:00pm
Responsibilities and Duties
The responsibilities and duties of the QC technician include, but are not limited to the list below:
- Monitor and document key process points or other, as specified per SOPs and job packets:
o Metal Detector Verification
o Finished Product Verifications (weight, seals, dates, etc.)
o Finished Product Evaluations
o In-Process Checks
- Detect and inform QA and production team members of defects or deviations to ensure product
safety and quality on 6 to 8 active lines.
- Ability to read and apply job packet information to the key process points.
- Understand and recognize all Big 9 US allergens, as well as those under the international market.
- Work towards continuous improvement of plant operations, food safety and quality of the
production, etc.
- Complete incident reports as necessary for foreign material, metal detector failures, glass
breakage, etc.
- Provide input, details, reports, feedback, etc. to QA management.
- Work with QA management to cover other functions, as needed.

policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates analytical and technical capabilities, leadership skills, and good communication
skills, including written, electronic, and verbal.
Requirements
- 1 or more years of experience within the food industry or other similar position
- Previous knowledge and understanding of GMP
- Bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English, preferred.
- Ability to read and write in both Spanish and English, preferred
